Who Loves Coyote Grace? Win An Autographed CD!

Coyote Grace

My haircut don’t look right
My clothes don’t fit just right
Them boy clothes are too big and girl’s too tight
My feet they look too small
And I ain’t very tall
I fight with my mom every time I go to the mall
If I can’t be your Daughterson, I ain’t nothing at all

- Excerpt from “Daughterson” by Joe Stevens

We’re big fans of folk favorites Coyote Grace over at TransGuys.com! We tracked them down at a performance and they kindly autographed a copy of their second studio CD, Ear To The Ground, for us to give away to one lucky reader!

Coyote Grace’s Joe Stevens, Ingrid Elizabeth and Michael Connolly mix bluegrass and blues, soul and Southern twang into a unique sound that’s complimented by a warm and engaging stage presence.

Medications to Avoid Before and After Top Surgery

When preparing for FTM top surgery, you may be advised of specific medications to discontinue prior to surgery, specifically any medications that interfere with normal blood clotting. These medications include aspirin, aspirin-containing compounds, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and vitamin E. Vitamin and herbal preparations should also be discussed with the surgeon performing your top surgery. Ginger, garlic and ginseng are examples of such preparations that should be avoided prior to top surgery. If you are in doubt, ask your surgeon!

View the list of medications and herbs to avoid before and after top surgery here.

FTM Packer Reviews and FREE Packers!

We have a couple of new FTM packer reviews up on TransGuys.com:

Pack-Man FTM Packer

First up, we reviewed the Good Vibrations Sailor Soft Pack, a popular packer that’s inexpensive and passes the bulge test admirably. Unfortunately, the Sailor Soft Pack has one problem that our tester just couldn’t resolve, leaving us to wonder: Why is the Sailor Soft Pack so popular? Maybe it’s not much of a problem for other guys, but be sure to read this review before you buy.

Next, we reviewed a packer that most (non-Canuck) guys have never even heard of: The Pack-Man, made by Happy Valley and sold exclusively by Come As You Are, Canada’s co-operatively owned sex store. (That’s right, CAYA is worker-owned and operated! How cool is that?) The Pack-Man is an upgrade over the ubiquitous Mr. Limpy / Packy, but you’ll have to read the review to find out why.

Now for the part that you’re really reading this post for… FREE Packers! As a promotion for our recently launched website, Trans News, we’re giving away two FTM packers!

  1. Sailor Soft Pack – 4” x 1 3/8”, Cyberskin, Vanilla – Value $24 USD
  2. Pack-Man – 3″ x 1 1/4″, Silicone, Chocolate – Value $40 CAD

There are four easy ways to enter the contest, so head over to this page and enter now! As of now, you have a 1 in 50 chance of winning. Those are great odds, bro! Good luck!!

Letters For My BrothersHave some advice you’d like to share? Add it here and you could win a free copy of Letters For My Brothers!

“Do not let others lack of understanding and compassion dampen your spirit or dictate who you are.” - Juz

“Remember where you came from, remember your roots and who raised you. Don’t forget to be kind to all who cross your path.” - Liam

“Don’t worry so much. Never stop learning. There’s always something new to discover about yourself and the queer world.” - Eliot

“There’s lots of different types of men, that includes trans men too.” - Oliver

“Hang in there…..it gets better….trust your own path.” - Sonam

“Keep your head up high, man. Love yourself.” - Nikolai

“Looking back… You not only have gained everything you thought you’d lose but you also gained happiness.” - Evan

“Yes, it is possible to be a gay transman, and it is all right. No, to transition is not equivalent to giving in to patriarchy. Yes, you will have sex post-transition – if you make an effort to get some. No, you won’t become a woman by giving birth. You’ll just realize that you are a man, and get a wonderful daughter.” - Tarald

“Don’t be afraid of what people with think, whether your friends & family will shun you, because all that matters is you being happy and loving your body.” - Edward

“You won’t be alone. You will have and experience more love than you could ever thought imaginable. Happiness finds you. Keep going.” - Justin

“Transition isn’t necessarily easy, you need confidence to deal with all the medical professionals,to know what you want and how to ask for it. Same goes for dealing with others in your life, but that confidence in who you are and that you deserve to be comfortable and happy in your own skin will go a long way to helping others see the real you!” - Jaye

“There isn’t a checklist in transitioning. We all have different experiences and encounters. Don’t let others tell you who you are.” - Leroy

“Don’t be afraid. Yes, it’s going to hurt, but putting this off isn’t going to help. You are stronger than you realize. ” - James

“Listen to your heart and take the path YOU knew would make you most happy… Your family loves you despite all of the things you’re afraid of.” - Xavier

“Don’t focus on the fact that it took you 40 years to set Aaron free. Now that he is, let him soar!” - Aaron

“I am part of a wonderful tapestry story helping the earth to evolve into a better place, and being true to myself brings a deep inner peace that nothing can ever rock again.” - Malkiel

“Don’t do too many steps at once. I know it feels desperately urgent but really you’ve all the time in the world to figure out who you are and who you want to be.” - Theo

“Don’t give up on your mom. It’ll take her a few months, but she means well. She loves you.” - Saer

“Just be the man that you are. And if other people don’t like it, than that is their problem, not yours. Embrace yourself. Practice some radical self love!” - Skye

“Know that your life now is amazing so everything you went through was totally worth it because it made you stronger.” - Daniel

“You’re not a traitor. You’re not betraying your feminist upbringing. Trust me.” - Jordyn

“People will surprise you and passing will be easier than you expect – don’t try, just be. The novelty, wonder, and sheer joy won’t wear off.” - Aaron

Trans Athlete Joins High School Football Team

A transgender teen, a senior at Grosse Pointe South High School in Michigan, has joined his school’s varsity football team, according to the school newspaper’s website.

Seth Knop says he wanted to join the football team last year but was too afraid to try out. But this year he approached both varsity and junior varsity football coaches and was told that the school’s athletic policy permitted coed sports teams. Knop is a running back for Grosse Pointe’s varsity football team.

“The kids in my grade respect me a lot for it,” said Knop of his being an out transgender athlete. “They treat me just like everybody else, which is what I wanted.”
