Medications to Avoid Before and After Top Surgery
When preparing for FTM top surgery, you may be advised of specific medications to discontinue prior to surgery, specifically any medications that interfere with normal blood clotting. These medications include aspirin, aspirin-containing compounds, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and vitamin E. Vitamin and herbal preparations should also be discussed with the surgeon performing your top surgery. Ginger, garlic and ginseng are examples of such preparations that should be avoided prior to top surgery. If you are in doubt, ask your surgeon!
